Your captain would be the amazing Laurent Bourgnon at 20 in 1986 hit world headlines by sailing an 18ft Hobie Cat catamaran across the Atlantic with a friend. The achievement was the precursor to victories in some of the biggest yacht races in the world, including the Transat Jacques Vabre and the singlehanded Route du Rhum. Along the way he set a set a trans-Atlantic sailing record of just over seven days in 1994.

Jambo is a low petrol consumption motor catamaran. Laurent and DBI share the view that eco sustainability and luxury do not have to be exclusive of each other – “I want to show the entire world that a powerboat can be as environmentally friendly and as inexpensive as a sailing yacht.” Jambo’s eco credentials speak for themselves when you realise that she can cover 20,000 miles 8 knots without having to refill.
