But what follows is a completely different way to experience the ocean. Through relaxation, awareness, and natural movement, it allows you to slow down and connect with the underwater world in its purest form.
Guided by Paul, one of our long-standing Dive Butler team members, this experience goes beyond technique — it’s about discovering what’s possible when you simply let go and move with the ocean.
Based in Paros, Greece, Paul is available throughout the Mediterranean during the summer, and in the Maldives and other destinations during the winter upon request, including private yacht experiences. As availability is limited, booking in advance is required.

What first sparked your passion for the ocean?
I spent my summers in Corsica, where I was in the sea from morning to evening, exploring rocks, caves, and marine life with just a mask and fins. That’s where it all began – a natural curiosity to stay underwater longer and discover more. The beauty of the Mediterranean Sea has a very special kind of blue – incredibly clear, deep, and peaceful at the same time
Over time, that curiosity led me to scuba diving, wanting to go deeper and experience what lies beyond a single breath.
A dive site that still inspires you?
Kandooma Thila in South Malé Atoll remains a favourite. With strong currents and constant movement, every dive feels different. Grey reef sharks, eagle rays, and passing pelagics create an ever-changing scene – it’s a place that never loses its sense of excitement.
What do you hope guests take away from diving with Dive Butler?
More than the dives themselves, it’s the overall experience that stays with them. Guests often tell us how different it feels compared to diving elsewhere – not just in the quality of the diving, but in the way they are looked after from beginning to end.
From the first welcome to the final dive, every detail is considered – preparation, safety, the atmosphere on the boat, and the personal attention from the team. The aim is always to create a space where guests feel completely comfortable, relaxed, and confident, so they can fully enjoy the underwater world.
It’s this complete experience that people remember, and often the reason they choose to return.
