DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF HANIFARU BAY:
With the season under way, Hanifaru Bay stirs with life during its peak season from June to October when the southwest monsoon currents funnel massive amounts of plankton into the bay, creating a nutrient-rich feeding ground— drawing in hundreds of manta rays and whale sharks in one of the most extraordinary natural gatherings on Earth. Located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Maldives, this marine sanctuary offers a front-row seat to one of the ocean’s most mesmerising phenomena.
Accessible only by permit and strictly regulated to protect its fragile ecosystem, Hanifaru Bay is best reached by private speedboat from nearby resorts like Amilla Maldives or as part of a bespoke day trip aboard a superyacht anchored in Baa Atoll. The Deep SeaFari experience at Fari Islands was created to awaken a sense of discovery and offer our guests the rare opportunity to witness the beauty of the deep sea—comfortably, safely, and intimately.
Our Deep SeaFari submersible, allows you to explore the depths of the Indian Ocean without getting wet, providing an unparalleled view of marine life in its natural habitat. Accompanied by a certified pilot and surface team, your dive is more than just sightseeing—it’s an educational immersion into the ocean’s mysteries. Guests remain in a completely dry, pressurised-free cabin, allowing for direct use of phones and cameras, and enabling flight immediately after the dive.
The submersible is available for private charters for superyachts visiting the Maldives, as well as resort guests staying at Fari Islands. For those looking to make a day of it, we can also combine the submersible with scuba diving, snorkelling, or water sports such as Seabobs, jet skis, and wakeboarding—creating a perfect marine adventure for the whole family.
